Job opportunities in Canada

Canada chooses skilled immigrants as permanent residents based on their ability to settle in Canada and take part in its economy. There is a new system to manage how people with skilled work experience apply to immigrate to Canada. It is called Express Entry.

To be eligible to enter the pool, Express Entry candidates must have skilled work experience in a National Occupational Code (NOC) 0, A or B occupation. Jobs offered to candidates in the pool must be in one of these categories.

Skill Type 0 includes management occupations considered to be at the top of the organizational hierarchy of workplaces or businesses. Skill Level A occupations require a university degree (bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate). For example, such occupations would include physicians, nurses, pharmacists, engineers, etc.

Skill Level B occupations generally require post-secondary education, apprenticeship training and on-the-job training, for example, occupations with significant health and safety responsibilities (e.g. fire fighters, police officers and licensed practical nurses).

We’ve listed a few current positions in some of Canada’s main cities that fit the criteria. You can click on the job title links for more information.
